● About

An ode to my Dad.

Heart of a Patsy was written in 2020 after my dad passed away back in 2017—this is a film for him. It’s my way of holding onto his presence, honoring the man he was, and preserving the values he passed down to our family: heart, grit, and love. This film exists because of grief, but even more because of gratitude. It’s about remembering where I come from, celebrating the quiet strength of family, and acknowledging the ways our parents shape us long after they’re gone. Creating this film has been a form of healing—for me, for my family, and for anyone who has loved deeply and lost. It’s a reminder that having a big heart is something to be proud of, and that legacy doesn’t live in trophies or titles, but in the way we love, show up for others, and carry the people we’ve lost with us through everything we do.

The Story

"Between sweat, struggle, and sacrifice, young Todd Patsy discovers that wrestling isn’t just a sport—it’s a lesson in love, loss, and legacy.”

Heart of a Patsy follows a small-town high school wrestler navigating one of the most pivotal seasons of his life as the worlds of sport, family, friendship, and first love begin to collide. As pressure mounts on and off the mat, he’s forced to grow up faster than he expects, learning how to carry responsibility, heartbreak, and hope all at once. The film quietly traces the moments that shape a young man’s character—early mornings, hard losses, unexpected joy, and the people who stand beside him when everything feels uncertain. At its core, it’s a coming-of-age story about resilience, legacy, and discovering who you are when life starts asking more of you than you feel ready to give.

● The Leading Man

Meet TODD

Undersized but overflowing with heart, Todd is a high school wrestler fighting for more than just a win—he’s chasing identity, purpose, and his father’s quiet approval. Running with street smarts but not a deep passion for school, Todd leads with compassion but struggles to believe he’s enough. His sketchbook holds his inner world, his morning runs keep him grounded, and the mat is where he comes alive. Todd is the kind of kid you root for, not because he’s perfect—but because he keeps getting back up. A true underdog with soul. The heart of a Patsy, through and through.
